Accessible Media Inc. and IL Canada Partnership Announcement

Accessible Media Inc. Partnership Announcement

We're proud to announce and celebrate a meaningful partnership between Independent Living Canada and Accessible Media Inc. AMI

AMI is a media company that produces content by and for the disability community. Together, we recently launched an initial year-long collaboration grounded in a shared commitment to accessibility, authentic disability-led storytelling, and meaningful community engagement across Canada.

This partnership reflects what's possible when organizations align around purpose. Over the next year, we will work together to amplify diverse voices, elevate accessible programming, and create opportunities for connection through workshops, conversations, and national outreach. As we build toward IL Canada's 40th Anniversary, we're especially excited to spotlight AMI's incredible work—content created by and for the disability community.

At the heart of this partnership is a shared belief: lived experience matters. That's why we're also looking to help grow AMI's Research Panel; an engaged community of more than 3,500 people with disabilities who are helping shape the future of accessible media in Canada.

💬 Through surveys and conversations, participants share insights on topics like accessible technology, TV programming, and media experiences – ensuring that disability perspectives are not just included, but centered.
